Have you ever wondered why getting quality and targeted traffic is so important, fundamental and essential to your business success? You might have the best website in the whole wide web, the best product in your niche or the best business in the entire internet space but without quality and targeted traffic, the possibility of your ideal client and customer locating your business would be extremely difficult, it would be like trying to find a needle in a haystack, it’s simply not gonna happen.
Traffic to any business can be compared to what food is to the body; very important. In one of my recent article where I talked about how to build a million dollar business, you’ll come to understand that one key success to any business is actually getting your products and services in front of as many people as possible, people who are interested in whatsoever you are offering; getting the right set of people to buy from you and actually do business with you again and again.
In today’s post, we are going to be looking at three (3) different categories of traffic you should be aiming for, how these traffic sources affects your business, how to get the best use of these traffic and ultimately, how to grow your business using the most reliable of the three (3) to instantly and effectively increase the return on investment (ROI) of your entire business.
Traffic You Control
The first category of traffic we are going to be looking at is what we call the traffic that you control. We call this traffic you control because you probably might not have control over the supply of this traffic but you absolutely have control over which aspect of your internet business to channel this traffic to. You have the absolute ability and authority to decide which page and/or funnel this particular traffic is going to be channeled to once unlocked.
A very good example of this kind of traffic is google ads. Google owns the traffic, google controls the supply of this traffic, but whenever you set up an ad through your google adwords account and get it funded, you’ve got an exclusive right to decide where and where you would like to channel this traffic to. You can choose to send the traffic to an affiliate offer, to your product page or to a squeeze page. You have the right to tell where you want to send this traffic to as long as you keep paying for it.
Generally, every form of paid traffic falls into this category and they include but not limited to the following:
Facebook Ads
Google Adwords
LinkedIn Ads
Yahoo Ads
Bing Ads
Twitter Ads
Banner Ads
Native Ads
Email Ads
Solo Ads
Joint Venture, etc.
While these are great sources of traffic to your business, one big disadvantage with these kind of traffic is, each time you need it, you’ve got to pay for it. Therefore, to get the most of this kind of traffic, you want to make sure you are directing this traffic to a certain kind of website called a “squeeze page” to start building a responsive email list from the very beginning. In subsequent post, we’ll go into great detail on the benefit of building an email list for your business and why you should start doing so, but in this post, you want to make sure that if you are going to be using paid traffic, your very best bet is to start building a list with this traffic.

Traffic You Don’t Control
This kind of traffic could be compared to a free traffic, kind of free publicity. You don’t have control over it. It just shows up and like every other unpredictable things, it can stop at any given time without you having a say over it. That is why we call it traffic you don’t control.
Of course you don’t want to depend solely on this kind of traffic but, you just want to be on the lookout for its kinds and in many ways it manifest itself. While building your business with the considerable traffic you control, you want to also take advantage of this traffic kind of whenever it shows itself.
A very good example of this kind of traffic is SEARCH ENGINE traffic popularly known as SEO. While this can give you free publicity to build a six-figure business when done properly, you definitely can’t predict the reliability of search engine to keep sending you free publicity. Google can change their algorithm, your page could be de-ranked or on a worst scenario, google could ban your website from ever showing up on their search engine and by then, if you only depend on this kind of traffic for your business, you will realize that you are lost.
Other examples of this kind of traffic includes;
Social Media Traffic (e.g. twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, etc)
Search Engine Traffic (SEO)
Guest blogging
Youtube
Viral eBook or video, etc.
Traffic You Own
The third and final type of traffic is what we call traffic you own. This is by far the best source and most reliable kind of traffic. You own it! You control it, you dictate whatsoever you want to do with it, you have authority over it, you love it and most importantly, it very reliable.
With this kind of traffic, you generate money on demand. It’s like given a licence to print money with no additional marketing cost, it’s your email list!
It’s called traffic you own because with no addition marketing cost, you can easily sent out an email about a product launch, an affiliate offer, your own products and services and instantly generate sales and revenue without paying google for it. You can write a blog post and instantly generate readership to your blog, you can create a Facebook post and instantly get followers and interaction without paying for it, you can do whatsoever you want with this traffic as long as you are building quality relationship with them.
With a responsive email list you don’t depend on google, SEO or other unreliable source for your business success because whenever you need to do something, you simply send an email to your list and instantly you get the result you so much desire without having to wait for days or years for that to happen.
Conclusion
Now, we gone through these three (3) sources of super quality traffic to instantly grow your business, you will agree with me that of all the three (3), the best and most reliable is the traffic that you own. Therefore, to get the most out of your marketing effort, it’s your duty to try as much as possible to convert the other two (both traffic you control and traffic you don’t control), into traffic you own (email subscribers and loyal followers) because this is only true way you can easily print money on demand in your internet business.
